Brow Lift

If people ask you if you’re tired or upset even when you feel rested and content, a sagging or furrowed brow may be the cause. If you’d like to refresh the appearance of your forehead, Dr. Thomas Hagopian performs endoscopic forehead lift, also called a brow lift, at his Atlanta plastic surgery practice to create a more alert and rested appearance for both men and women.

How Is a Brow Lift Performed?

A board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Hagopian uses a technique called an endoscopic brow lift. Unlike traditional brow lift surgery, during which a surgeon makes a single, long incision just above the hairline, an endoscopic brow lift involves making 4 or 5 small incisions hidden within the hairline. Dr. Hagopian then inserts an endoscope—a thin tube with a tiny camera and powerful light. The endoscope guides him as he uses another thin surgical instrument inserted through the other incisions to lift and smooth the skin.

After elevating the skin and securing it in place, Dr. Hagopian sutures the incisions. The procedure typically takes 45 minutes to an hour.

Who Is a Good Candidate for a Brow Lift?

Most of the men and women considering brow lift surgery are between ages 40 and 60 and have started to notice aesthetic concerns such as:

  • Sagging skin at the outer part of the eyes
  • Vertical frown lines between the eyes, just above the bridge of the nose
  • Horizontal wrinkles on the forehead

By adjusting and tightening the underlying muscle and elevating the skin, a brow lift minimizes the appearance of forehead creases, drooping eyebrows, and frown lines.

Can a Brow Lift Be Combined With Other Procedures?

Dr. Hagopian often combines other facial plastic surgery procedures, such as eyelid surgery or a facelift, with a brow lift. Nonsurgical treatments, such as dermal fillers or BOTOX® injections, may also be performed as part of a brow lift procedure.

How Much Does a Brow Lift Cost?

Starting at $4,500

The cost of brow lift surgery in Atlanta starts at $4,500. Your total price depends on the extent of the procedure needed to produce the desired results and if it is combined with other procedures. Dr. Hagopian customizes each brow lift procedure and provides a personalized pricing estimate as part of your consultation.

What Is Brow Lift Recovery Like?

One of the benefits of the less invasive endoscopic brow lift is that recovery following the surgery is typically shorter than after a traditional forehead lift. You can expect the incisions to heal within a week to 10 days. Bruising and swelling peak during the first few days and then gradually resolve on their own. Discomfort can be managed with either over-the-counter or prescription pain medication. Dr. Hagopian recommends applying cool compresses and keeping the head elevated to help reduce swelling.

You should get plenty of rest during the first week, but it’s also important to take brief walks periodically to help the healing process. Some temporary numbness in the forehead area is common during the recovery. We provide detailed postoperative instructions to all patients.

What Do Brow Lift Scars Look Like?

Dr. Hagopian conceals the tiny brow lift incisions within the hairline so you won’t see any scars.
